Bought this and goats milk soap for my teens. They made beautiful soaps for our family. The wood box provided precise cutting, and the tools were very sturdy. Easy to use - this was there first soap project.EaseFirst the pros: 1. This kit comes with everything you need to scale up the soap making process. I could go from making 4 single bars in my little rectangle mold to making 10 at a time!2. It's reasonably priced.3. the materials, while not high-end, are adequate4. it does make soapNow the cons:1. My kit came mistakingly came with 2 wavy cutters - Now I have to buy a separate straight cutter2. the silicone inserts are shipped "twisted" so they don't lay absolutely flat against the outer wood box. I thought the weight of the soap would push the insert against the wood, but it doesn't and I used clothes pins to keep it flat as to not warp my soap3. The cutting board kinda works - the soap slides as you cut and even though I pushed it flat against the end by the opposite side each time I cut, I still ended up with wonky shaped soapAlso of note: The mold holds 3lbs of soap. I used 2lbs and you can see it didn't go all the way to the top of the mold. My bars came out measuring 2.75inches wide x 1.75inches tall x 1inch depth (After cutting).Overall, I think if you are buying this to make soap for your own enjoyment or gifts for friends and family it's fine. If however, like me, you are dipping your toe into making soap to sell, I'd go with buying higher end products that make the end result a lot more attractive.Great kit for price easy to cut soap evenly easy to store shomemade soap for drying easy to clean sturdy and durableThis is a decent set if you are not relying on the molds. I was sent 2 different ones. One pink and one purple. The pink one is completely useless. It folds in when making soaps so all the soap bars are uneven. You'd be better off just lining the wood mold if you don't want your bars ruined. The purple one seems to be a little better, but still flimsy in comparison to others. I honestly wouldn't have even complained for the price if the pink one wasn't complete trash.The mold covers are nice for insulation, but, honestly, most of my molds end up filling up over the top if I do any type of design so I can't even use them.The cutter is fine, but after comparing it to a wire cutter, I definitely prefer that kind. If you are looking for a beginner set, I would not recommend this. I think it just makes things harder.This works well for soapmaking but one of my silicon inserts was unfortunately too big for the wooden box it was supposed to fit in. I tried swapping and it doesn’t fit either box. The soap does come out of these inserts very easily. I wish they would add a wire soap cutter instead of the full flat. This is a good set up for beginners!As a beginner soap maker this is perfect. The packaging is also compact and cute and it would make a great gift for your crafty friends.This is overall a good product, especially for its price. The blades aren’t great, but they will get the job done. I don’t know how long they will last before they break but as I said they are good for the price you’re paying.
