PRODUCT DESCRIPTIONThis is an authentic, ‘raw’ (i.e. not a refined) product. It is made from coconut & palm oils which are ‘soaponified’ when poured over 'coals' (chopped, ground, & charred coconut & palm leaves). In addition to being a soap, the product may contain bits of charcoal (charred plant debris) & fine gravel.INSTRUCTIONSIf you are new to the product, here are a few tips for a better bathing experience:▪ get the stiffest, most abrasive loofah you can find. Ghanaians use a 'wash net', but I have never seen one in North America. This makes the soap lather generously, and is an excellent exfoliant.▪ try to KEEP THE SOAP AS DRY AS POSSIBLE! Wet your hands, then rub the soap between your palms. Use your hands to rub a soap slime over your body (or body part).▪ for best results, DO NOT RUB THE SOAP ITSELF DIRECTLY ON THE BODY. This is a RAW product. It contains bits of charcoal & fine gravel which accumulate & concentrate as your soap piece is used.▪ use the loofah to rub & scrub yourself (or a preferred partner...).▪ rinse thoroughly under the shower stream. Repeat the process over sequential body parts (or partners!).This product is the best shampoo & the best body wash I have ever experienced. I first encounter it 27 years ago in Ghana, and have since abandoned all other soaps & shampoos.CAUTIONWhen used with a wash net or loofah, in experienced hands, this product is a world-class aphrodisiac!If the desired results are not realized, all is not lost…. I've been using this soap since I was 12, when my grandma brought me some for my skin. She always said this soap is for "OUR SKIN" and I've been using it everyday since.As an adult, this is a deep cleaning soap for your ENTIRE body. It also helps keeps blackheads off of your nose ladies.Using raw black soap, witch hazel as a toner, and a very light spf 50 moisturizer is the only combo you need.As a daily soap in the shower, it's a natural exfoliant, so be mindful to rinse the shower out after each use.Great soap, my next order will be 20lbs worth. It's well worth the money.Always top notch quality, please make sure you use some bath puff, sponge, loofah, or a wash cloth and not use the bar of soap directly on your skin, as there are small bits of ash and charcoal which WILL scratch and irritate your skin. This soap is a degreaser, so it WILL dry up your skin, for those with normal or dry skin types, I'd highly recommend some lotion after shower. This soap is vegan, for those of you who want to avoid animal cruelty, that's a plus. Buy in bulk and cut down to size, you will find out it comes out to about the same as a store-bought bar of soap, except this is natural and healthy for you. We have also used this soap to make a solution by simply heating up bits of soap in water, then straining the solution and using it directly on a loofah sponge. In a bind, you can even brush your teeth with this soap, although the taste is, well... soapy. There are no harsh chemicals and charcoal actually brightens teeth.I must say that I was first impressed with the swift delivery.. 2 days,!! Without rush shipment!! When my box came it was very heavy, 20 lbs. because I ordered two. I had no idea what could have been in the box that the cute UPS man dropped off at my home. I'm guessing my husband ordered me a nice bowling ball for Christmas. Then he called me to say he received an email that the soap would arrive today. OMG! I thought it wouldn't be here for two weeks. I LOVE IT!!!! It is exactly what I would get from my natural shop in Philly. Same smell, stones and lather. The price was fair, I wasn't happy about the shipping but okay. I ordered this a while back last year and it was fantastic and REAL black soap. The one on the bottom wrapped in shrink wrap is from that batch. You can tell that it’s REAL black soap. But this new batch something weird, pale, and not black soap. It has a weird middle and it’s off putting. Just take a look and compare it to the previous batch I’ve received on the bottom there. Not even close to the same colorThe only thing I don't like is when the soap gets small it crumbles
