i ordered the Chrome finish, but thanks to the genius of Amazon Warehouse and their super-careful product checkers, I was shipped the Optic Stainless one. I was pretty bummed when I went to check again, because the other Warehouse one in Chrome had been purchased... so I would have to spend the, like, $70 retail (!) to get another shot at a Chrome one. ummmm...... how 'bout NO. but since i was comped my purchase price and allowed to keep the item, I installed it in the kitchen -- which has stainless faucets/air gap, instead of the bathroom's chrome finishes. As a kitchen soap dispenser it's 5-star-fabulous. I didn't really realize just quite HOW large it would be until it arrived -- to the point where it looks almost like a small hot-water spout and not a soap dispenser -- but once installing it on the kitchen sink, i'm all about it. the long neck means that the soap goes into the middle of the sink bowl, doesn't leave a dish-soap-colored drippy-spooge-stain on the side of the sink, which you then have to spray the water at, just to get it to break up and dissolve with the water. Not so with this model! Soap practically hits the disposal's flange. it seems to have NO problem with thick, syrupy dish soap (i've tried it with Palmolive Pro, blue Dawn, and the Kirkland [Dawn] green apple, all from Costco) and I'm not the type to dilute my dish soap with anything besides other dish soap. I do use it with an extension tube routed directly into the gallon-ish jugs of dish soap, so i don't know if that changes the pump action/viscosity tolerance. in addition to its aforementioned good qualities, the tall pump head makes it easy to dispense soap with an elbow, or forearm, when my hands are dirty/fishy/meat-y and I don't want to have to disinfect one MORE surface. Plus, the tall profile of the sink flange piece (?) and the tall shank (that goes up inside the pump head) mean that even during the most aggressive sink-cleaning spray actions, no water gets down below the sink. I did make sure to install it with a THICK ring of DAP AMP silicone alternative, though, so i'm sure that helped.Oh, and lastly, the thing is just... handsome. it elevated my kitchen sink's look, for sure. it made the Glacier Bay (ugh) faucet look like at LEAST a Delta, maybe even a Kohler, and I even find myself wondering if my filtered water faucet is the coordinating Hansgrohe model (it's most definitely NOT).And just like that, I've become that guy who writes .... an embarrassing amount of words of praise.... about a soap dispenser. So, for my sake, if it's on Warehouse deal, give it a shot. It's a small touch of luxury you'll appreciate each time you push down its hefty, cool metal head, and get the same, consistently-perfectly-sized, generous pump of vibrant dish soap you got last time, and the time before that, and will probably get for at least ten years of daily soap-pumping.... and smile a little, Martha-Stewart-y, "i'm very content with the trappings of my luxurious life"-type smile.
