I shave my head as well as my face. This product is one of the best I've used.Nice size bar of shaving soap with a great almond scent.Money's worth...RecommendedI don't know what the heck I received, But this is definitely not General Conk Amaretto scented Almond Soap. It is the only soap I use. It is supposed to be a light sand colored, and I just received a brownish glittery goop that has no smell.priceSo, I've used some bargain brand shaving soaps in the past and in some ways, those were better. This soap is not "slimy" is the best way I can put it, meaning that the soap just makes a very light lather and does not necessarily lubricate the razor extremely well. No amount of whipping it up seems to thicken the lather after a certain point, and varying the water content in the brush to use as very little as possible also does not help.I shave in the shower though, so your may experience a difference if you shave at the sink instead.I gave up "modern" shaving products a few years ago and switched to using simpler products. A double edge safety razor, a shaving brush, and some shave soap like this are much cheaper to use and give me a better shave overall. This Col. Conk almond soap is a reliable favorite. It easily makes up a nice lather on my brush, feels good on the skin, protects against razor burn, and has a pleasantly sweet but very subtle scent. This size provides me four-six months of shaves. Good stuff.I have used shaving soaps that were more expensive. They work great and feel wonderful. CC isn't far enough off of that description to make a difference. I get a good smooth shave, great lather and wonderful scent. You do need to work a bit for the rich lather but that isn't a negative for me. I face lather so I make sure the brush is loaded well and from there I have no issues.
