Solid look and feel but the internals are questionable.PROs- Solid feel- Everything made from solid brass. One of the only brands not making sprayer out of metal plated plastic.- Tech support is good once you get to right person.- Excellent warranty. If they can't solve the problem, they will send out new parts or a whole new faucet.CONs- Took a lot patience working with tech support to get the faucet working properly- Sprayer hose is braided stainless steel but it's covered in clear plastic tube which does not look as nice as braided metal hose.- Internal parts like the cartridges are plastic so only time will tell on how long these last.- Flow restrictors are installed to meet CA requirements.- Corrosion on sprayer head destroyed finish in less than a year.I am on a private well and my house's water pressure was normally 30-50 PSI. After the problems with this faucet, I bumped the pressure settings up to 40-60 PSI.The faucet looks great, feels great, and super easy to install. It's made mostly from brass, even the mounting nut underneath is sold brass. My countertops are 2" thick and there is more than enough thread to reach. The faucet body has a groove underneath with an o-ring that compresses against the countertop. Once tight, water does not leak through and the faucet does not twist. So the first one I got, something was very wrong and when using the sprayer water would continue to trickle out of the pot filler. I also had water flow a lot lower than the rated 1.8 GPM. I called Vigo and they said the diverter valve must be bad. The diverter is buried inside the faucet and there is a long round brass piece that need to be unscrewed. I'm good with this stuff but no tool can remove this piece without damage. Every soft jaw pliers I own would only slip. Even vise grips wrapped in rubber slipped. When I finally got just enough force to break it loose, it was only because the teeth on the vise grips cut through my rubber pads and bit into the brass. What a mess. The brass was all chewed up. Even though this piece is hidden, I was very upset with Vigo for not having the forethought to machine flat surfaces for a wrench. After all that, the faucet still had the problem. This brass piece is the place where the hose holder swivels. Vigo attempted to replace this part but accidentally sent me a used one from a totally different model. It did not fit my faucet, but it had the flat sides for a wrench. lol. Bottom line, I was escalated to a supervisor and Vigo replaced the entire faucet under warranty. The replacement faucet fixed the trickle problem. It appeared to work properly except the water flow was still a lot lower than 1.8 GPM... almost half of that and it made an occasionally groaning noise. Vigo talked me through removing the flow restrictor that is inside the sprayer, which made no difference. They sent me a new faucet cartridge and that made no difference. And sent me a special 2.2 GPM aerator, which got the pot filler flow to something just a little over 1.8 but not really 2.2 GPM. They tell me these have a +/- 10% error factor but all of the ones they sent me seemed to be more than 10% under the rating. I really liked the 2.2 GPM aerator and again I thought everything worked great... until the groaning noise continued happening. There is something inside the body of these faucets that occasionally vibrates as a loud groan as you're activating the sprayer.I was all set to just live with it until the "sprayer delay" problem started happening. Sometimes, several times per week, I would squeeze the sprayer handle and nothing would happen. Water would continue out of the pot filler side and be delayed at the sprayer by a few seconds... occasionally delayed 10 to 15 seconds like something was stuck. I was actually able to finally capture this on video and sent to Vigo. They claimed to have never seen this problem before and made me patiently wait while they "worked with the factory in China". I communicated back and forth with long stretches of a couple weeks at a time where I was not hearing anything from the Vigo supervisor. It was frustrating to be left hanging for long stretches. At one point, he blamed the 2.2 GPM aerator and sent me another 1.8 GPM aerator... that fix was no good, the sprayer delay and the groaning noise continued. Back to Vigo and back to waiting. Finally, after several more weeks, the Vigo rep walked me through removing another plastic device. It was located above the diverter and below the hose in the main faucet body and might be the second flow restrictor. Once this plastic piece was removed, the groaning stopped and the sprayer delay never returned. It's been well over six months, maybe longer since all this was resolved. Water pressure is great and I seem to be getting over 2 GPM from both the pot filler and the sprayer.Right now, with everything working, I really love this faucet. Other than the long delays in communication, I cannot complain too much about Vigo support... they stuck with me to the end.The finish on the face of the sprayer where the water holes are drilled looks like some kind of a coating and the minerals from the water have corroded it a bit. You can't see it and it doesn't affect performance but that really has me concerned about the finish on the rest of the faucet wondering how it's going to hold up. Since I now have a box of spare Vigo parts from all that troubleshooting, I just swapped the whole sprayer for the spare. Meanwhile, I may call Vigo and have the corroded sprayer head replaced just in case.If you buy one of these and have any problems at all, ask Vigo for the larger 2.2 GPM aerator, and how to remove the two flow restrictors. The larger blue one is in the main faucet body under the hose and the smaller yellow one is in the top end of the sprayer handle. Once these are removed, there seems to be no problems at all.I have purchased and installed 5 of these faucets. in my own house, my parents' house, and other folks. Everyone who sees it loves it. It's very well built, looks great, does a fine job, and we all love the tall height of the sprayer which gives enough hose length to reach MUCH father than the typical consumer grade sprayer type faucets out there. The spray handle is very sturdy, feels nice in the hand, and has many features found on real commercial models. It's also VERY easy to clean out the sprayer holes if they get clogged up with hard water or whatever. The ONLY one thing I really dislike about the CURRENT Zurich model is that they took away the on/off control on top of the pot filler. In the original model, you could leave the main handle on and set for your favorite temperature, and then use the sprayer or the pot filler (or both simultaneously) as stand-alone faucets. It was always ready to go, just grab the spray handle and go, or throw a pot under it and go.In the NEW Zurich model, the on/off control on the pot filler is gone. So when you turn on the main handle, it comes out the pot filler. When you use the sprayer, it automatically stops coming out the pot filler spout. while this is a pretty typical method of control, it is lame compared to the more robust capability of the older model.Service is great too. a few years ago, I needed a replacement part, and Vigo was really great about sending that to me quick and without a lot of fuss.Vigo, I love this faucet, but seriously... please bring back the older style with the control handle on top of the pot filler !!!!! I'd happily give 5 stars if you did that !!I previously purchased and returned the Kraus version of this faucet. I returned it primarily because the spray pressure was inadequate to remove food waste from plates and other utensils. Prior to returning it I contacted and had several exchanges with Kraus customer service. In the exchange I had with them just prior to returning it the CS Rep. told me that nothing could be done to solve the low pressure problem. The flow rate on the Kraus is 1.8 GPM vs 2.2 GPM for the Vigo unit. The Vigo unit does have significantly more spray pressure and I would classify it as adequate but not excellent. The entire experience spurred me to do more research into these home units and to see what commercial units can do and what if any standards they have to meet. What I have learned is that these home units really aren't in the same class from a performance standpoint and they can cost as much or more as a high quality commercial unit. How do commercial units differ? Every component on commercial units is made to much higher quality standards. I give the Vigo 5 stars only because I am comparing it to other home units and not commercial quality units. Commercial units must meet 1.6 GPM or less with some units operating at 0.67 GPM. However, 1.1 GPM appears to be the optimal value in low flow. There is a standard test of baked on tomato paste on a plate and measuring the time it takes to remove the paste from the plate with the spray unit. The best performers can do it in under 16 seconds, though under 21 seconds is considered very good. Over 25 seconds is not acceptable. In the commercial world where they are doing thousands of dishes a week, the amount of water used is a significant cost factor as is the energy to heat the water so achieving high efficiency is very important. Also the time it takes to pre-rinse is important in terms of man-power required. So how do commercial spray units achieve this level of performance and the household units do so poorly in comparison? Several factors come into play, first these is pressure of the spray, second there is velocity of the spray and thirdly is the pattern of the spray. Commercial spray heads have nozzles designed to achieve high velocity and pressure is an efficient pattern. Hoses are another area where the commercial units are superior. They use hydraulic quality hoses with pressure relieving springs in the high stress connection area and are stainless steel wrapped for protection. They can be purchased in various lengths from about 20" to the standard length of 44" to longer lengths for reel mounted systems. The faucets, stand pipes, etc. are all of very high quality US made. The major brands available, several here on Amazon, are T & S, Fisher, Chicago Faucet, Encore and Strahman. The Strahan Quick Clean III is one of the fastest. The Fisher and Encore are also very quick. Several can be configured, even with a pot filler faucet, to be no taller than the VIGO or KRAUS units but they probably won't be as esthetically pleasing. To better educate myself, and to try and compare the VIGO against the commercial units, I purchased a fisher Spray Head and handle and hose; however, I have had no success in installing them on the VIGO unit. The reason is that VIGO appears to use some rather non-standard hose fittings sizes. The end that connects to the handle on the spray head appears to be a '"-14 NPS thread fitting, the commercial units use a '" -20 UNF thread fitting. The other end of the hose that connects to the stand pipe is ½" fine thread on the VIGO hose and ½" coarse NPT thread on the commercial unit. I have had no luck finding conversion fittings...yet. I plan to keep trying. The photos show the various fittings and measurements for each. My plan is to eventually replace the VIGO hose and spray head with a commercial one. It is clear that the commercial vendors have put a lot of R&D into their products.A final note on leaks and other complaints I have seen on most of the units shown on Amazon in the reviews. Any unit can leak, even the commercial units. The hose and spray head put considerable stress on the joints compared to stationary type faucets as they are stressed in every dimension and direction. The commercial units recognize this and make changing parts quick and easy as down time is money. Spare parts and components are readily available from multiple sources. The same cannot be said for these made in China variants so one should expect more difficulties and longer wait times for parts. Further, the CS reps don't really have detailed specifications information as these companies are marketers selling goods made for them by third party manufacturers. I asked the VIGO CS Rep for the fittings information and he said the spray head fitting was a ¾"-14 NPT which it is not and while the end that attaches to the stand is ½" it isn't a US standard NPS thread. One other point, the spray head is held under very good tension in the holder and I haven't seen any of the issues others have mentioned of the unit not staying put.5/26/15I realized I forgot to mention in my review above that about 2 to 3 days after I had shipped back the Kraus unit I received a call from the Kraus CS Rep. informing me that they were sending me parts that should address the problem. I informed him that I had already shipped the unit back to Amazon based on their earlier statement that they could not do anything to change the spray force. I have no idea wether they had a solution or not but thought it unfair not to mention that they appeared to be trying to fix the issue. This unit was purchased quite a while ago and never got around to review. We have since replaced our counter tops to Quartz and unit was removed and re-installed as easily as when initially purchased, no leaks or issues. We absolutely love this unit and unbeatable price for what is available in "specialty stores" even with a contractor discount. Highly recommended.Terrible Quality! This faucet was marketed as high end and top quality and within 6 months it flooded my kitchen. The faucet internal mechanism leaked while we were away on vacation. I highly recommend not purchasing anything from this company, as they were not willing to stand behind their product by replacing or repairing the issue.Very frustrating and disappointed!!Good value for the money, and works ok. But on installation, it is very close to the wall, and I can't turn the temp all the way to the hot side. It hits the wall and I can only get lukewarm water out of the tap.Exactly as described and appears to look.My issues with it, which were stated and I hoped were exaggerated but were not was that the spray handle had very weak pressure. This is true. You’d be hard pressed to spray bread crumbs off a plate let alone anything you actually want to spray off that needs some hard pressure for. For clarification I have a direct 1/2” line to this faucet with the same result. This product isn't worth the money. The Hose pops off randomly after 4 days of reinstalling. Which sprays water right over the ceiling. And this only started a year into owning it. This was also installed by a master plumber. The hose should be threaded onto the stem instead of a slide on. Very weak design.
